Embalming Polly Pocket

Img_4425_3

Believe it or not Polly Pocket is not annoying enough to be embalmed (although finding a stray Polly boot in Junior's diaper was annoying.) In an effort to live artfully this last week, I decided we should make our own snowglobes! Note that the white stuff in Polly's hair is ground eggshell and represents snow not dandruff. The only problem is the permanence of Polly's state - Juniorette wanted to remove her two days later to brush her hair. Don't say I didn't warn you.

First, collect some little treasures to glue onto the metal top of a jar. I used a processed meat baby food jar that husband accidentally bought (gross.) If you're like us, none of these treasures will actually stick with Krazy Glue so we skipped this step and rounded up Polly for embalming. Fill the jars with Baby Oil but be sure to let your tyke do it because it is so easy to clean up when the Costco sized bottle is dropped on the floor. Put clean eggshells in a towel and step on them - this makes good snow (or dandruff.) In another jar we placed Polly's toy tiger and her purse (priorities) and some beads as well as lots of glitter.

That looks eerily reminiscient of the shrunken heads in jars and suchlike, that you see in images of old-time sideshows. I'm guessing that's not the effect you're going for, somehow.

Thank you for sharing! And wishing you a very Happy New Year!!!!May all your dreams come true Miss Pink!xoxo

SOOOOOO happy to see that you are back, Pink. Hope all is well with you and yours and hoping that 2008 finds you in a happier job situation and tons of fulfilled designing dreams.

How fab!

Hehe, if I can find some heart shaped glitter bits I think this might be a fab Valentines Day gift for the Minx to make for her father... Am sure he will LURVE.
